What is this?
- Add step by step instructions and display them to the class
How to use this…
- Project onto the document camera in your classroom via your computer. Students can refer to these instructions whenever they are working
Why is this useful?
- Students can begin relying on this resource to recall information they may have forgotten
- Could be used to display content and language objectives for independent work
- Reduces interruptions during small group because the necessary information is readily available for students
Group Maker
What is this?
- A tool that will randomly assign students to pairs or groups
How to use this…
- Click on the Toolkit icon
- Select the number of students you want in each group
Why is this useful?
- Assign topics of conversation for students to discuss during whole class lessons
- Save time when you are giving a task that is not reliant on strategic grouping
- Gives the opportunity for students to socialize with other students they may not normally collaborate with
Music
What is this?
- You can control music that is either “active” or “focused” from the Class Dojo app
- Play, pause, skip, and stop songs right from your device
How to use this…
- Anytime that you would normally have music playing, you can do so right from the Class Dojo app
- The music will play through your computer
Why is this useful?
- Use as a noise meter, the students should always be able to hear the music during
- Set the tone and mood of the classroom by choosing between active or focused
Noise Meter
What is this?
- Show noise level as reflected through moving bar graphs
How to use this…
- Set goals for students to prevent them from getting too loud during independent work time
- Adjust sensitivity of the noise meter to fit the task for the students
Why is this useful?
- Remind students how loud their voices can be when they are working independently
- Hold students accountable for controlling their noise level

What is this?
- Show question prompts for students to discuss in pairs
How to use this…
- Create your own questions and/or use questions that have already been created for you
- Project for the class to see the topic being discussed

- Students can be reminded what they are supposed to be talking about with their partner
Random
What is this?
- Call on students at random without requiring them to volunteer
How to use this…
- Click on random
- Ask a question that would be appropriate for the student who was called
Why is this useful?
- Hear from students who would not normally volunteer in class
- Customize questions to students by going on random first then posing a question
Timer
What is this?
- Timer runs down to zero and a buzzer will sound once the time is completed
How to use this…
- Start the timer at the beginning of an activity so that students know how much more time they have to complete a task
Why is this useful?
- Teach students about efficiency and time management skills
- Remind yourself about transitions
- Stick to your schedule by setting the timer to a realistic amount of time
Today
What is this?
- Post a morning message or task and display it to for the class to see when they come in
How to use this…
- Write out your morning letter to your students
- Hold them accountable for referring to it and following the directions as they come in
