  • iPads to Media Center: throughout the day, we get a lot of students coming in for iPad issues. To help us out, especially when we are in classrooms or not in the offices, please only send students with a note describing the problem, their name, your room number, and a class pass
  • MacBooks: please note that the new MacBooks are very fragile! The screens are easily cracked, so we highly recommend purchasing a cover or a case to keep your MacBook from being damaged. Please make sure that you are cautious to not close anything inside of the MacBook and to keep liquids away from the computer. According to the staff Acceptable Use Policy, teachers are responsible for any damage caused to the device. We highly recommend purchasing the $50 insurance; please see the attached Staff AUP for more information!
  • Candy Bars: 6th grade is selling candy bars to raise money for 6th grade camp

  • Shout-out to our PTO for keeping all staff and every student/parent in mind by always having coffee and treats ready for parent meetings and for contributing towards the cost of purchasing iPad covers for our devices! We are investing in more durable cases to minimize any potential damage caused by the devices being dropped.

  • Shout out to Ms. Heather Galyen for being so organized in leading our EduAbroad ceremonies and very diligently using google translate to bridge the communication gaps we encountered throughout the week! #growthmindset

Shout-Outs

  • Thank you to Mrs. Cortez for demonstrating the core value of growth mindset for stepping up and volunteering to teach our new 5/6 combination class! Classes in 5th & 6th grade had 32-35 students, so this will help decrease the number of students in those clas
  • ses. The kids being placed in the 5/6 combo class are beyond LUCKY to have you as their teacher!
  • Thank you to the 5th & 6th grade teachers for keeping all staff and every student in mind when you took on the difficult task of nominating your students to the combination class. We know that you’ve build relationships with all your students and it is not an easy decision to pick students to leave, but you were very thoughtful with your choices and I’m sure they will be successful!

Information

  • GQ – Gentlemen of Quality – Mr. Reggie and the GQ Committee are looking for gentlemen to join GQ. If you have someone to nominate please submit the form that was left in your box into Mr. Reggie by October 6th.
  • New Character Strengths: Please take some time with your class to teach and celebrate our two new Q2 Character Strengths: Curiosity & Self-Control (school-work)
  • Q1 Data: All data should be input into Illuminate by this evening.
  • Email Groups: Feaster Charter now has a whole staff email group, FeasterStaffGroup, that should be used instead of the Feaster Distribution Email. You can find this by going to the groups section under your folders on your Outlook Email. To make sure that your email shows in everyone’s inbox, make sure you click the icon at the bottom that says, “group broadcast” when you scroll over it. Please see Heather if you need support using this.
  • Imagine Learning: ILE is holding a contest for teachers who have their students using their program for 15-20 minutes 5days/week. This is something the company is doing to encourage continued usage. By having your students do this, you will be entered to a drawing to win various prizes
  • Donors Choose: Mrs. Walker is available to help anyone who is interested in funding a project for your classroom find the resources or set up a Donors Choose. Those interested in funding flexible seating, rugs, couches, bean bag chairs, etc. can email her and she will follow up with you to set up an account!

Shout-Outs

  • Thank you to Mrs. Cortez for demonstrating the core value of growth mindset for stepping up and volunteering to teach our new 5/6 combination class! Classes in 5th & 6th grade had 32-35 students, so this will help decrease the number of students in those clas
  • ses. The kids being placed in the 5/6 combo class are beyond LUCKY to have you as their teacher!
  • Thank you to the 5th & 6th grade teachers for keeping all staff and every student in mind when you took on the difficult task of nominating your students to the combination class. We know that you’ve build relationships with all your students and it is not an easy decision to pick students to leave, but you were very thoughtful with your choices and I’m sure they will be successful!

  • GQ – Gentlemen of Quality – Mr. Reggie and the GQ Committee are looking for gentlemen to join GQ. If you have someone to nominate please submit the form that was left in your box into Mr. Reggie by October 6th.
  • New Character Strengths: Please take some time with your class to teach and celebrate our two new Q2 Character Strengths: Curiosity & Self-Control (school-work)
  • Q1 Data: All data should be input into Illuminate by this evening.
  • Email Groups: Feaster Charter now has a whole staff email group, FeasterStaffGroup, that should be used instead of the Feaster Distribution Email. You can find this by going to the groups section under your folders on your Outlook Email. To make sure that your email shows in everyone’s inbox, make sure you click the icon at the bottom that says, “group broadcast” when you scroll over it. Please see Heather if you need support using this.
  • Imagine Learning: ILE is holding a contest for teachers who have their students using their program for 15-20 minutes 5days/week. This is something the company is doing to encourage continued usage. By having your students do this, you will be entered to a drawing to win various prizes
  • Donors Choose: Mrs. Walker is available to help anyone who is interested in funding a project for your classroom find the resources or set up a Donors Choose. Those interested in funding flexible seating, rugs, couches, bean bag chairs, etc. can email her and she will follow up with you to set up an account!
