Shout Outs

Shout Out to the ELPAC COMMITTEE, Stephan Phan, Crystal SanRoman, Shea Macleod, Marissa Hernandez, Anabel Ibarra, and Angelica Sleiman, for committing and following through. The team has worked very hard to condense hours of ELPAC trainings into an abbreviated two-part PD and ensure that everyone receives the appropriate information to administer the ELPAC assessment. Thank you for taking the lead as we transition from CELDT to ELPAC!

Pictures: (1) Ms. Aderholdt’s class got to video chat with a class in New York! This was organized using a free program fro 4th & 5th graders called Empatico. http://empatico.org/ (2) Our PIQE program started this week, we have a little over 70 parents who attended!

Information

  • PIQE (Parent Institute for Quality Education (2nd -8th): THE FIRST CLASS WILL BEGIN THIS WEDNESDAY (last Wednesday was a planning session). Our goal is to have 100 parents participate in this program, as of last week we had a little over 70 parents. Please continue to promote and incentives students and families to participate. Any completed registration forms can be sent to the office or to Room 201.
  • Teachers in Grades 3-8 please check your classroom speakers to make sure they are in working condition before testing. If you contacted Heather or Roel, they have either repaired your speakers, put in a work order with the district or ordered you new speakers.
  • Blog : As discussed during our PD, there has been an increase in the number of broken or lost devices. Our blog post this week details ways you can prevent shattered screens. Take some time to read itat https://feastercharter.wordpress.com/2018/01/19/keeping-technology-protected-from-damage/
  • If you haven’t already, please remember to follow our Feaster Charter blog by clicking “follow” at the bottom of this website: https://feastercharter.workdpress.com/ and entering your email address!
  • Donors Choose: We have a $119 Donors Choose credit available to be used for flexible seating! The first person to email Heather with a link to the supplies they are requesting will get them for their classroom! Good luck and act quick!
  • We have been brainstorming ways to repurpose our old iPod carts. One idea has been to turn them into a Portable Makerspace! This would be available to come to your classroom during certain times for your students to create projects. We would like your help in ordering supplies! If you can think of any tools or resources you would like your students to have access to, please email Heather.
