Good Evening Falcons! Tomorrow 1170 Falcons will walk through our gates ready for the 2019 – 2020 school year! Your rooms look fantastic and welcoming and our kiddos are going to be so excited when they meet you tomorrow. Wishing you all a great first day and a great year!

Additional Information:

  • Student AUP:

please make sure that you go over the Acceptable Use Policy with your students. It really helps them take better care of their devices when they understand the consequences of having to repair a break – including a minimum of $80 to repair the device and loss of the device until the repair is paid for.

  • iPad Insurance: please make sure that you share the insurance information with students…the insurance will cover the cost of one break for the entire year.
  • Media Release Forms: in your welcome back packets, you will see a Media Release Form for your students. This form tells you who should not have their pictures taken or posted. Please keep these in your classroom for your records! Some teachers place a small sticker on the student’s nametag so that they know who should not have pictures shared publicly. This information is really helpful to us as we post pictures of school events on brochures and social media.
  • Portable Speaker Inventory: We will be doing inventory on the portable speakers that the school has purchased. If you have a portable speaker on wheels, please bring it to the Media Center (903) no later than Thursday, July 25th at 3:00. These will be returned to you once we have updated the condition and information on our inventory list.
  • TAC Link (Attendance): The attendance system works best on Chrome, not Safari, you can log in by going to the CVESD webpage or by using this link. Please make sure that you bookmark the page so that you have easy daily access!

Additional Information:

  • Cell Phone Policy: Recently there have been some questions regarding our cell phone policy. As a reminder, homeroom teachers must collect all students’ cell phones and store them in a secure location. Students can pick up their cell phones at the end of the school day. Students should not have their cell phones in their backpacks during the day. Thank you for your support with this policy.
  • Shrek Jr. Tickets:
    • Shrek Jr. Tickets are being sold before and after-school in front of the main office! Stop by to buy your tickets and support our theater program!
    • Playbill: In order to help fund some of the costs of the Shrek Jr play, we are selling space in the playbill where parents and community members can leave a note for their child or an advertisement for their local business. Please help us promote this opportunity by sharing the information with your parents on Class Dojo.

  • #FeasterStaysFit
    • Did you know that exercising on a regular basis could help rid your airway of bacteria that lead to colds, or make your body produce more antibodies that fight sickness? (source: https://medlineplus.gov/ency/article/007165.htm )
    • We know how busy educators are and how important it is for us to make time to exercise. To help us stay healthy, we have partnered with Teresa Mazzarella to offer fitness classes to our staff for an affordable price. If you are interested in learning more and trying out a FREE class, join us this Wednesday at 3:15 near the PE building. We hope to see you there!
  • Clearing Cache: if your students are having any trouble accessing any of the programs through the CVESD student webpage, please have them try clearing the cache on their iPad.
