STEM Week 28 Announcements

Shout Outs

  • Shout Out to our 6th grade team for having a growth mindset as they begin to implement student-led conferences this quarter! Students have taken an active role in their education by preparing a Keynote presentation that they are presenting at their conferences. Students are taking responsibility for their learning and setting personal goals for 4th quarter!
  • Shout Out to Ms. Hildt for having a growth mindset and preserving through several difficult situations that have occurred with a student this year. You are making a difference in this student’s life!

  • Congratulations to our 7th grader, Monica Law for presenting her speech on bully prevention at the CVESD District finals! We are so proud of her hard work and the social intelligence she used when discussing such a complex and widely discussed concern.
  • PIQE GRADUATION – Almost 70 parents are eligible to graduate from the Parent Institute of Quality Education (PIQE). The graduation ceremony will be on March 14th at 5:00 in the middle school area. If you are interested in attending, please let us know so that we can reserve a seat for you. I know our parents would appreciate you support.
  • Imagine Learning – Students took a middle of the year assessment. You can view the report by logging onto IL and looking at their Language and Literacy report. On 4.1.18 the end-of-the-year testing window will open.
  • Yearbook – Please remind parents that they can purchase yearbooks online at using code 12722418
  • iPads: iPads should not leave the classroom for students in elementary school unless requested by RSP, this includes students working outside on the ramps with iPads. We have had a significant increase in broken and lost iPads, please help by remaindering your students.
    • When we return from spring break, all classrooms will need tor eview routine sand procedures for safely handling the iPad devices. During this time, we are asking all teachers to review the AUP (attached) and hold conversations during morning meetings about each section of the AUP. The tech team has also created an Infographic for you to refer to as needed. We would really appreciate all of your help in ensuring that devices are used appropriately, meaning that:
      • iPad devices are handled safely
      • Personal login information is not entered
      • Profiles that have been installed by the school are lft on the devices and not removed
  • Tutoring: If you are interested in tutoring after-school there is an opportunity to get paid! Please see the coaches for the form, you’ll need to fill it out and turn in regular attendance.
  • Donors Choose: Last week, we had several emails with Donors Choose requests! A school wide project will be put up on the site this week using your requests. If you have other flexible seating supples you would like added, please send Heather a link!
  • Instagram: You can now follow Feaster Charter on Instagram at @FeasterCharter and @Feasterathletics
  • Twitter: On Tuesdays, Apple will host an educator twitter chat at 6:00 PM using #AppleEDUchat
  • We are still offering iPad insurance! With the large number of devices that have been broken, now would be a great time to remind parents that this is an option as long as their device is not already damaged.
